Ready for takeoff for little space travelers: Our contribution to the new play UFO at the Nebra Ark
At the beginning of July, the time had come – the play UFO at the Nebra Ark was officially opened and put into operation. We were delighted to witness this special moment and watch the enthusiastic children as they explored it. What now stands on the lawn below the visitor center is an imaginative adventure playground for children – and a milestone for us.

A playground that lifts the imagination
The new play UFO is part of the expanded OUTER SPACE outdoor area at Arche Nebra. The aim was to make the unique themed area focusing on astronomy, space travel, and the famous Nebra Sky Disk accessible to younger visitors. The focus was not only on fun and games, but also on combining knowledge transfer and active movement – in a child-friendly, creative, and inspiring way.

Our mission: Play value with a vision for the future
Our focus during implementation was on a central experience location in the play UFO: the cockpit. Here, children can slip into the role of astronauts and space travelers, press buttons, move levers, communicate via displays, and explore space with a little imagination. All around, interactive play elements encourage physical activity and provide space for role-playing. In addition to the thematic design, safety, durability, and inclusion were of course also at the forefront of our minds.

Enthusiasm at the opening – and beyond
The response at the opening was overwhelming: as soon as it was opened, the cockpit was immediately taken over by curious little explorers. With sparkling eyes and boundless energy, they explored, tried things out, researched, and flew. For us as manufacturers, the greatest praise is when our play ideas spark this spirit of discovery.

A place to learn, play and marvel
With its new outdoor area, Arche Nebra has sent a strong signal about what knowledge transfer can look like in the 21st century: interactive, accessible, and full of joy. We are proud to be part of this visionary project and would like to thank the Arche Nebra team for their inspiring collaboration. We wish all space travelers, young and old, a safe journey through the universe – and lots of fun playing!
